Looking into Retail and ConsumptionIn this issue, we once again take a thematic approach — this time focusing on retail and consumption. We’ve just spent millions on Halloween candy — a relatively new tradition in Sweden — and are already gearing up for Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and the Christmas shopping season. There’s barely a pause between the pumpkins and the Christmas decorations in the stores.
In this issue, we talk to Ulf Johansson, Professor of Marketing and Assistant Director of the Centre for Retail and Logistics at Lund University (REAL). We also feature an article exploring how marketing can be used to promote degrowth, and we round off our retail and consumption theme by examining what makes us choose vegetables over meat. On the media front our researchers keep sharing their expertise on a daily basis, but a special shout out to Ulf Johansson who seems to be quoted on a daily basis whenever media outlets even. mention the word retail. We wish you an insightful and engaging read! | What about Retail and Consumption Ulf?Lately Ulf Johansson, professor in Marketing at LUSEM, has been quoted in the media on a weekly basis on issues relating to Coop’s survival, ICA’s gaining market shares, the depletion of commerce in city centres and e-commerce to name but a few. We got a chance to ask him about important trends in retail and what is upcoming in the near future. What about Retail and Consumption Ulf? – lusem.lu.se/internal | | fd |
